Overview

Kanzaki Iori is a Japanese Vocaloid producer, lyricist, composer, and novelist. He was one of the most important early creators in KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO, especially through his sustained work with KAF. His own catalogue includes “Inochi ni Kirawareteiru.”, “Kimi no Kami-sama ni Naritai.”, and “Ano Natsu ga飽和する。”; his Kamitsubaki work helped establish the continuity between KAF’s songs, live narratives, and the V.W.P witch concept.

Role in Kamitsubaki

Kanzaki Iori was a central author of KAF’s early-to-2023 musical continuity. His credits include “Ito”, “Shinzo to Karakuri”, “Majo”, “Kako wo Kurau”, “Fukakai”, and “Umi ni Bakeru”. He also contributed to early V.W.P lineage songs, linking individual songs to the shared witch narrative.

His role was broader than supplying isolated tracks: lyrics, music, live themes, and story language often echoed one another, forming a chain from short uploads to major performances. After his graduation, KAF’s creative network entered a new phase while retaining structures established during this collaboration.

Artistic Position and Creative Lineage

Kanzaki Iori (Kurogaki / クロガキ) is KAMITSUBAKI’s founding auteur — a composer, but also a novelist and a singer-songwriter. His creative lineage can be summed up as “driving piano rock + the literary narration of a young person’s existential pain”.

DimensionCharacteristics
Instrumental foundationPiano-driven, high-density rock arrangements; the chorus often builds an emotional cliff through sudden acceleration and stacked harmonies
Narrative motifsThe pain of living, the feeling of being loathed by the world, adolescent self-denial and rebellion
Textual identitySimultaneously an author: lyrics and novels share a single narrative vocabulary, and the works rewrite one another
Boundaries of activityComposer / VOCALOID producer / self-accompanied singer / novelist — four identities running in parallel

Aliases and origins: Common aliases include Kurogaki / クロガキ / 黒柿子 and かんざきいおり; his real name is given as 神崎伊織 (Kanzaki Iori), and he comes from Iwate Prefecture, Japan.

The Symbiotic Relationship with KAF and the Founding of KAMITSUBAKI

The collaboration between Kanzaki Iori and KAF is the model case of KAMITSUBAKI’s “artist symbiosis system”:

  • From October 2018: he handled the lyrics, music and arrangement of every original song by the virtual singer KAF — from 《糸》 and 《心臓と絡繰》 through 《過去を喰らう》, 《不可解》 and 《魔女》, constructing the complete aesthetic skeleton of KAF’s early period;
  • October 2019: he took part in founding KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO as one of its charter members;
  • V.W.P lineage songs: he led the lyrics and music for almost all of the five-member choral pieces 《魔女(真)》《電脳》《輪廻》《言霊》《共鳴》《定命》《玩具》《祭壇》《秘密》, giving V.W.P’s choral narrative a highly unified worldview;
  • March 4, 2023: at KAF’s “不可解参(想)” live performance he announced his graduation from KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO; since then he has worked as an independent creator while continuing to supply songs to KAMITSUBAKI as a special collaborator.

The meaning of the “symbiosis system”: the producer does not merely supply singles — he also leads the conception of the chapter narrative for the artist’s solo concerts (the “不可解” series). This model made KAF’s music and live performances share a single narrative logic, and made the “composer” one of the actual authors of the worldview.
