Overview
ASU is a next-generation virtual singer who appeared in Shinkai-kai, the parallel other world that exists alongside the Kamitsubaki setting. Characterized by innate rhythmic sense and an unpredictable singing voice, she is a carefree, innocent girl who acts on pure instinct. Her character design was created by renowned animator Mai Yoneyama.
ASU debuted in August 2021. She held her first in-person 1st ONE-MAN LIVE “RAY” on December 28, 2024, followed by her 2nd ONE-MAN LIVE “BIRTH” on August 30, 2025, quickly establishing a distinct presence. Her activities are connected to yet independent from the main Kamitsubaki world, representing the musical expression of the Shinkai-kai side.
Role and Creative Position
ASU’s defining traits are instinct and unpredictability. Her vocal range is broad, and her natural rhythmic ability allows her to deliver performances that break free from conventional frameworks. Mai Yoneyama’s character design gives her a look that balances transparency with vitality, echoing the atmosphere of Shinkai-kai.
Her songwriting emphasizes intuitive emotional expression. The lyrics and melodies overflow with a youthful purity and impulsiveness, bringing a fresh color to the Kamitsubaki ecosystem that differs from the V.W.P lineage.
